My name is Michael Ingram. I am very fortunate to be retired and not have to work for anyone. I enjoy working with my hands, using my brain, and learning new things. I work on transmissions and do a few other things for that purpose. The money I make goes for tools and equipment to help improve my work and make things easier. Here is a little more information about me.
I know that spending a lot of money with someone you do not know can be a tough thing to do. Here are my work policies to help with any concerns you might have. You will receive a quality rebuilt transmission done to the best of my abilities with much care and pride. I will definitely stand behind my work. If there are any transmission problems caused by my workmanship, I will fix them at no charge. I will replace any damaged transmission components at no cost to you. Unfortunately, you will still have to remove and reinstall your transmission. If the problem is still not fixed I can try again or refund your money. The choice is yours. For transmission problems not caused by my workmanship I will repair your transmission for my cost of the parts only. No labor fees. I know that sometimes customers will not use their rebuilt transmission right away. It may sit for several months before being used. I take that into consideration and do not have any time limits when dealing with transmission problems. I will always treat you fair and do the right thing.
I can only stand behind the things I can control. I cannot control the transmission installation procedure or how the vehicle is driven. I cannot be responsible for any problems caused by installation errors or abusive driving or the overworking of your transmission. Your rebuilt transmission should perform as well as it did when the vehicle was new. All of the components installed in your transmission are equal to or improved over the original parts. Your rebuilt transmission should not be used in any activity that the vehicle was not designed for originally. Your rebuilt transmission is to be considered the same as stock. Remember a new stock 4L60E transmission with the proper care and maintenance will last 200,000 miles or more. There is no need to spend extra money on unnecessary modifications. A rebuilt 4L60E transmission from me should last 100,000 miles or more.
Transmissions are complicated. There are a lot of moving parts. Many things can and do go wrong with them during use. The majority of the time, problems and potential problems will be discovered during my meticulous inspection process of the transmission. I go to great lengths to make sure that I do not create or overlook any problems when rebuilding your transmission. That is all I can control. If there is going to be a problem with your rebuilt transmission it will usually happen right away. If your rebuilt transmission goes 500 miles with no problems it will probably be fine for the next 100,000 miles or more.
My usual customers are mechanically minded. They have experience working on vehicles but for whatever reason would rather not rebuild the transmission. They want to get the most for their money and receive quality work with no short cuts. They want to deal one-on-one with the person who is actually doing the work and be able to ask questions and get straight and honest answers. Hopefully they are also not in a hurry. If this sounds like you, I think you will be very satisfied with your experience.
